Summer

The Golden Week holidays are over, and with that, so is spring. The spring here in Osaka is beautiful but all too short — just a month ago I could finally start wearing my new spring coat even in the early morning; now it's already getting too hot to use any coat at all. We're quickly moving into summer territory now, with high heat, high humidity and hurricane season on the horizon.

So, here's a selection of pictures to remind us of a time when mornings were cool, the light was subdued and the world still smelled of spring.

  1. Is that owl hood ornament literally holding up the garage door?

  2. No, it's not that bad. ^_^ The ornament is a little in front of the door itself.

  3. Great photos. :) Spring in Japan looks very nice.
I have the feeling, here in Germany if there is one day sunny and warm, there come 3 weeks of bad weather afterwards :(

  4. Summer again. This year I've had time passing really fast.

After this next week of painful exams, I'll officially finish my last high school year. I'm Happy but quite nostalgic nowadays, having passed 6 years with great people.
Some people tell me that high school was their best time, frankly a bit sad to leave it behind.

Once all of this ends, well, time to enjoy the Mediterranean summer.

  5. Some people truly enjoyed high school. For many others, like myself, it was fun but also painful and frustrating. You're at an age, after all, where you really have no clue who you're going to be or what you're going to do when you grow up.

Me, I much preferred university over high school. More responsibility and pressure, but also more freedom. And being able to study what you want is just amazing.

Of course, I'm in my fourties now, but I still don't know what I'll be doing when I grow up...
