Do It Right

While we're on the subject of checking things: Be careful when you load 35mm film, and check that the film really catches properly in the takeup spool. If it doesn't, nothing will happen when you try to wind the film. You're just winding empty air while the film sits in the canister. You can take pictures for weeks, only to end up with a completely blank roll at the end. Like this one:

Oh well. Pictures are fleeting things anyway. Now I have a second chance at those shots I thought I took.
