2007 Pictures

I'm shamelessly copying a neat idea from Shisaku and posting one picture from each month of last year. Not necessarily the most significant image, but just the one I like best from among those that I've posted on Flickr.

January

Lunch Hour
Lots of cool, clear days in February. Here an office worker during his lunch hour outside Osaka City hall, Nakanoshima.

February

Ramen
Cup ramen, northern end of Doutonbori canal, Osaka.

March

Siesta
In March we travelled to Ho-Chi-Minh City in Vietnam. The manager of an outside eatery behind the Saigon Central Mosque is taking a rest.

April

Taxi
When you miss the last train you walk or take a taxi. Hurts either way.

May

Lunch golf
Golf is popular - insanely so. A couple of office workers spend their lunch hitting balls across a lawn.

June

Namba parks
Namba Parks is a fairly new shopping center in south Osaka. Huge, with lots of stores, restaurants and movie theaters, and it has this neat terraced park on the roof as well. Worth a visit.

July

Goldfish fishing
Summer is a time for festivals. This is a game where you try to catch a goldfish with a small paper net; the net dissolves pretty quickly so you have to be fast.

August

Kaminari
Summer lightning storm over Osaka.

September

i-1 Closeup
Our robot went public. i-1 contemplating a table-tennis paddle.

October

Happy Couple
Osaka Gay Parade, with this very happy couple.

November

You
You. Yes, you.

December

One Wheel
Not the most efficient way of taking your sibling on a walk, perhaps. Looked fun though. Nagahori street, Osaka.

Herr Morén -

I agree with koolgeek. You are astonishingly good.

Try as I might, I cannot disentangle the pillars from their reflections in the image of cup noodle container in the water.

As for the month by month, david_in_tokyo beat me to it:

Thank you both!

I'm only happy with about half of the images here; some months have very few images to choose from to begin with. Since I suspect I'll post something similar next year I guess I'll have to take a bit more care to take something worthwhile every month.
